While this song is relatively new, it talks about an event that occurred in my life 46 summers ago. While in Estes Park attending a musicians conference, God changed my heart through the power of His love. Even though I’d been raised in church (thanks mom and dad), I’d never personally realized my need for a Savior.

It was on that warm August evening that God helped me see I truly was a sinner who needed to be saved. It was in that startling moment of truth that I simultaneously experienced the baptism of God’s sweet love. What happened in that miraculous moment continue to reverberate through my life. As the song says, “I’ve never been the same since that day Your love washed over me.”

So, no matter how many summers I have left here on this earth, it remains my prayer the God’s love continues to transform me, more and more, into the likeness of His Son.
