There used to be a time we believed in Sunday School
There used to be a time we tried to live the Golden Rule
There used to be a time when serving others was more important than serving ourselves
There used to be a time when a preacher used his Bible
There used to be a time when the church prayed for revival
There used to be a time when materialism was seen as an enemy of faith

But Jesus we’ve lost our way
And the road to moral compromise grows wider each day
Right and wrong we’ve just explained them away
There is no truth, so we’re told
There is no truth, do you suppose

There used to be a time when our elders were respected
There used to be a time when little babies were protected
There used to be a time when life was celebrated as a gift from God above

The day is coming it’s been written its been told
When Jesus will return to take His children home
There’ll be fire in His eyes as He judges this world
His holiness revealed and His terror unfurled
There’s gonna come a time – There’s gonna come a time
There’s gonna come a time – yes there’s gonna come a time

There’s gonna come a time when the skeptic turns quiet
There’s gonna come a time when the scoffer bow in silence
There’s gonna come a time when every person on this globe cries out
“Jesus, You are Lord.”
Oh there’s gonna come time when every person on this globe cries out
“Jesus, You are Lord.” (repeat)
