When I said yes to Jesus
I said no to my old ways
It’s really true that all things become new
But there’s still a struggle
Between the light and the darkness
Seeking the kingdom’s not an easy thing to do
I’ve got to walk on in love
I’ve got to turn the other cheek
I’ve got to move on beyond the selfishness of my past
I’ve got to lay down my life
So I can pick up my cross
I’ve got to follow Jesus whatever the cost
God has promised me
His Spirit will fill me
And in my weakness He’ll be strong
He’ll change my want to
He surely will have too
‘Cause I can’t change me on my own
I want to be His living sacrifice
Living to please Him and Him alone
I’m gonna lay my life down before Him
And with His help I’ll never pick it up again
